The display was created in line with the SEAL unit plans for Year 3 – Going for Goals and Good to be Me. As a class we talked about what the quote meant to each other (Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you will land amongst the stars) and had a discussion about setting yourself targets and what it feels like when you achieve those targets. Each child then thought about something they wanted to achieve and wrote it on a star. The stars were placed at the bottom of the display and every week we held a 10 minute circle time to discuss which targets had been met and for those children who hadn’t achieved theirs, what they could do to achieve it in the future. All achieved targets were then moved to the top of the display and the children could write new targets for themselves.
